| Just another bit of news to make me sick and so angry. Many of you may remember the little boy taken from a liverpool mall by 2 ten year olds. They were released from jail a number of years ago and given new identities (that in itself seems wrong to me) Now one of them is 27 and up on child porn charges. The mother of James Bolger was told she would be told if either of these "kids" were to break their agreement on their release, and she was never told of these current goings on.she has had to take her children out of school, shes not sleeping or eating. I cannot believe that first, these kids were released ever. and then to be protected by given new identities!! They both committed such an awful thing on that poor helpless little angel, and now can move on and have wonderful lives, with new names and not have to look over their shoulders as to who's about to creep up on them and do them in. Its just so wrong. I don't care that they were 10 when these crimes were committed...they knew what they were doing and are obviously still doing horrible disgusting things as an adult. When it comes to kids who cannot defend themselves and are just so innocent and sweet I get on my high horse and go mental when I hear what i have just heard. I think Im gonna be sick!! OK rant over

Agree!
Like we've all said lately, someone must be screwed up in the head in the first place to commit these crimes...just plain born bad, I reckon.
And if they're like that, I don't think there's any kind of rehabilitation that is ever going to help them.
So they should be kept away from society forever, in my opinion.
And you know what's sad about it? There are lots of people with mental disabilities that are locked up in homes forever because they can't 'fit' into normal society...& those poor folk probably wouldn't hurt a fly! They just can't cope on their own, is all.
So if they can be locked up forever, why not these criminals.

You know in a way i can understand it, the problem is there is a fine line between sane and insane/mentally ill. If a person is classed as mentally ill we have to remember that a Doctor or whatever has classed them this way that's the difference. Those who go around killing and so on are not classed mentally ill and of course then if your not classed mentally ill then they say you have a good chance of rehabilitation and should be given that chance. I'm not saying this is right or wrong but it is how it works.

My heart goes out to any family living through this sort of thing. I feel more so for the families that never know what happened or can never bury their loved one, there is never any hope of closure for them:-(

Exactly John B...it probably won't matter to the family whether the person concerned was officially classed as mentally insane , or whatever...the thing is their loved ones are gone in circumstances over which they had no control. That would be the hardest thing for me...you know, thinking, "if I just could have been there, I might have been able to do something...anything"
It is very sad, & I pray to God I never have to go through anything like it.
