| I know it's not a big deal to anybody else, but it is to us. Our little Man was Baptised on Sunday and just thought I would share one of the photos. We were very proud of him on the day and both his Dad and I had tears streaming as he was Baptised. Attachment: Damon1.jpg (Downloaded 31 times)

| I was only a week old when I was baptised. I still have my baptism certificate and it is in Latin. True! I guess that's how they did it back then.

Thanks, we thought he would freak out because it was done during our usual service and there were about 40 people there. Damon is shy even though he is Mr Adventure, but he held his own, walking up and down the church with his candle and people greeting him didn't faze him at all.
One of the Parish people took a bunch of photos for us, he is a professional photographer and knowing that it was just going to be us and no family coming, he offered to take all the photos and do up a disc for us for free, which was so sweet of him. Haven't seen them all yet, this photo was put on the top of the Church's monthly newsletter that I got via email this week.

yes I was very thankful and grateful to him for the offer, the people at this Church all have been so welcoming to us and very supportive and caring toward all of us especially me because of my family health issues back in Oz, and it really makes us want to keep going every week to meet and greet with everyone. It is a very welcoming atmosphere and to me that is what Church is suppose to be. Had lots of issues with other churches over the years, because they were so darn clicky and you were looked at like you had 2 heads when you walked in the door.
So even though D misses out on his sleep in, we both enjoy the service and the people very much and Damon enjoys the crayons and the treats to keep him quiet
Oh and forgot to mention....they have had 2 Reverends at the Church that are Aussies

Well now, you're wrong there Texas Jo...it IS a big deal & I for one am very happy that you've chosen to bring up your son this way.
I thinks it gorgeous, and from your other posts about your church it sounds like there are some really caring, inspiring & generous people there.
I know you said before that the church gave you peace of mind...I can really relate to that, and think that is one of the good things a church & belief in God can bring...you know, someone to lean on, someone to trust in etc. I know that belief has got me through a few difficult times before...its just always nice to know that a problem shared is a problem halved.
So well done to all of you & Damon is a real little cutie.

Sixties...I can't even really put into words what going back to Church has done for not only myself but David and I. It's been a tough 6 years and we were both just worn down to the bone, but somehow going back to our faith has changed things alot for both of us.
My wish is, that Damon is apprecitive and caring and loving like all the other kids/teenagers that go to that Church. I don't know if it is because they have all been brought up in and around the Church, but those kids really put some hope back into the future for all of us.
