Sadie ended up with 4th place overall in her weight division for this Region. She thought she got 5th but when she looked at her medal it said 4th (she is so blonde), anyway she missed out on the regionals by 10lbs on her last lift. But we think she did great to even place for her first go around with Powerlifting. Now it's onto training for track which she is really into this year. This girl has turned into a little power house, she is so toned from all her training and she loves it, so off we go to track meets now.

That is fantastic! it doesn't matter anyway where they come as long as they do their best that's all that counts because they have to have it in the first place to compete. Hope she keeps it up.

She did well im sure you are proud of her and she needs to be proud of what she achieved. Coming first doesn't always mean you are better anyway just better on the day.

Powerlisting is finished for her now, they had a meet every two weeks for that. With Track she is competing in Varsity Level (Seniors) even though she is Junior Varsity, so she will have a Track meet once a week for the next 2 months.

Will it ever start up again for her or is it finished for good? and if so isn't there somewhere else she might be able to keep it up if she wanted?

Its good she has found something that interests her and doing well at it! Maybe there is a coach somewhere that might take her on if she wants to continue.

We live in the country so not much luck with finding specialty coaches around here. However she said yesterday, that there is a Powerlifting team over summer, so she is thinking of joining that. But she also wants to get a job, so the job will come first, because she needs one to keep her car on the road.

I was good at running when I was at Primary school, I was fastest in the school when I was in Grade 6, I went to the inter School meet and came in 3rd,I got a ribbon for that and qualified for the finals, I came in second last in that race. I was not happy with myself until the teacher came over and asked if I did my best, and told me that the other kids I raced against were older and I should be proud of myself... during school assembly I was called up by the Principal and he made a big deal that I had been the only student to get a ribbon.
Sadie should be proud of her achievement and keep training and she will get better.

She is concentrating on Track now, they still do weights in that training as well, so she will keep her muscle tone going.
That's one thing I have found over here more so than in Australia, is that sports is such a HUGE thing, it also seems the kids that are in the athletic teams get more choices with Colleges. It's strange to me, but have seen it happen many times over here.
Eg, there was a girl in houston at one of the big schools that was under my department, she was A grade all the way, another girl in the same grade was AB but also very involved with track and other sports. The girl with AB got more college acceptances than the girl with A grade all her schooling life. I don't get it

Its something i don't get as well, ok so they are good at sports what makes them any better than someone who has higher grades its about schooling, where does sports come into education?
