Ok, I guess I should do an update on what I have been doing since I got back to OZland.
I was home about 3 days and went for a trip with my Mother and Sister to Mackay to visit friends and we stayed 1 week... I drove most of the way home once I felt comfortable driving again... which is good since I'm a trucker...
Then I got my Licence and medicare and all the other I needed to start work. My sister knows a guy who works for Volvo trucks, and he knows a guy who owns a trucking company, I went for an interview and got the job and started 2 days later, that was January 14th. I drive an old Kenworth with 13 gears, and for those who know Brisbane our yard is at Carole Park, the longest trip I have done so far is to Narangba on the northside, for the most part I am not more than 1 hour from the yard and get home nightly and have weekends off. The pay isn't the greatest, but I am spending quality time with friends and family, and that was the whole purpose of moving back. I was offered a job by another company, since I know the General Manager from a job I had before moving to USA, I decided to stay where I am after a long talk with my boss, he is going to teach me how to drive B Doubles, for those non truckers, a B double has 2 trailers.... I am glad I stayed where I am, the other company filed for bankrupcy and has now closed the doors.
I am still at my Mother's place, she built a room downstairs so I have some privacy.
I finally got to see my Cousin I am having accused of having the affair with , my style was really cramped since my Mother and Sister was there too.... , it has been 19 years since I saw her last. We still joke around like we used to, it's like nothing has changed, she has been trying to set me up on a date with a friend of hers, we finally met a couple of weeks ago and had a drink, that was the last time I saw her, we talk on the phone sometimes. My Cousin is having a bithday party for her Fiancee on the weekend, it should be an interesting party, I'll probably finish up fishing at the river behind their place and camping in my tent.
I have 2 cars, one belongs to a friend, the deal was that I could register it and drive it, but once I found something else I had to give it back to him, last week I found a car I liked, and my friend had to lend me the money to by it... he knows I will pay him back, it is a 1991 toyota Surf (it looks like a forerunner) it has a 4 cylinder Turbo diesel in it, and automatic of course... I change enough gears during the day. Once I find a long range fuel tank for it I will run it on cooking oil. I was looking for a bullbar for it, and my friend tells me I have one already, it came off my old Toyota i had before i left to go to USA and has been sitting in his yard... we are going to paint it and I'll put it on my new car. I have given the other car back, but it is still in my name for now.
You may of noticed that I have slowed down on my posts, I read every post, but don't always want to reply because of all the stuff that happened elsewhere, and am trying to let it all die down. That's why I hardly respond to some posts.
On Friday this week my divorce will be final.
That's about it for now....

Things are settling for you Tambo and thats great to hear mate.
Loved the bit about your car that was a funny read, and its great your Mum building you a room.
Hope you catch some fish ! and as for the Divorce well mate not sure what to say there but im sure you know where im going from with that.
Most of all you know we are thinking of you no matter what is going on in your life.

I bet your Mum is spoiling you rotten too! My youngest brother had a room under Mum and Dad's house for years and she was his live in maid. LOL.
Hope you start posting more, you really are a bright spot here. Hugs for DD I know you are going to have mixed feelings that day, I know I did.
Carole Park to Narangba, I could do that blind folded I reckon. LOL I love hearing about Bris, keep em coming!

the city has changed so much I had to buy a GPS, they were giving me directions and told me go along Johnsons road.. and I must of had a weird look, he asks what's wrong, last time I was there it was a dirt road, now it is all sealed and joins up with Browns Plains road.
I pulled up at one of our customers and one of the forklift drivers yells out to the office to ask what is the "Yank" taking today..
I'm still only casual, and things are slow, I don't know if I will be working day to day, but the owner is one of these people who you can talk too, I am gratefull he gave me a start, most of the companies I had applied with didn't want to know that I had driven in OZ for 15 years before going to USA and if anyone had bothered to check my drivers licence number would find it wa issued in the 80's.
Rooee, we could have the same mother.. she just spoils me rotten... she wants to get a toilet put downstairs for me, I keep telling her that once I get on my feet I will buy my own place and will be moving out.
