We heard our dogs going crazy at about 8pm last night, so D went outside to see what was going on.  He was out there for ages and finally he came inside with this wet, muddy and cold pathetic looking creature.  After a warm bath and a dry off this is what was underneath all the mud.

He looks to be a basset hound x with something else, I am putting flyers up around here today to see if somebody has lost him, but we are thinking he has been dumped.  He only looks to be about 8 weeks old if that, judging by his teeth.

I am going to do the right thing and post flyers around here...somebody has spent time on this pup because he is paper trained.  He goes pee and poop there and doesn't miss...so he has been doing it for a while.  If nobody claims him I guess he is part of our family, because I just couldn't take him to a shelter and Damon loves him...they are running around together right now as I type this, chasing each other up and down the hallway.

Kinda looks like a black lab, very cute!

Someone dumped a lab in our neighborhood and she ended up pregnant.  She took up residency in the crawl space under the abandoned house next to ours.  She had something like 8 puppies, which our neighbor was able to get rid of.  I ended up taking her to a no-kill shelter, which tore my heart out.  But I couldn't keep her because my dogs all HATED her.

Update on puppy.

Well it looks like we have a new family member, weirdly enough I found the pup on craigslist today.  The people that were advertising him also had other pups and the Mother dog on there.  So I called and told them that I found a pup that looks exactly like one they advertised, I told the woman what he looked like and then found out she lives 30 minutes from here.  She had sold the pup to a woman who lives about 10 minutes from here and gave me her phone number.  I called her and at first she was reluctant to admit it was her pup, which I found really weird so I questioned her and she was avoiding answering me straight out.  So I just went for the throat and said, listen lady if you don't want this pup then just say so because my family will take him!

She then explained that she went and got the pup yesterday and that her husband flipped out when he got home from work and took off with him.  Not sure if that is true or not, but the good news is that he found us and he is safe and has a home! I thought about taking him back to the woman that sold it to this other lady, but then thought, well obviously she didn't screen people very well and do I really want the poor little guy to end up in another home like what he just came from.

OMG I have 6 dogs now t7654 but he is just going to be a small guy he is basset x with begal (sp) and won't add that much to the food bill, luckily we have enough land to have all these dogs and hog hunting comes in real handy to feed the dogs, and there are plenty of hogs to be had out here and Damon just loves him and he loves Damon, so I guess Damon has a dog now.

I think the pup is going to be great for Damon as in growing up together.
Now we need to know his name.
