When our postman delivers the mail he will always put the letters in the mail box and that is the right things to do of course however, if we have a parcel and mail believe it or not he brings the parcel to the door and puts the letters in the mail box. How hard is it to also have the letters with you? As i did say i know its petty but it gets on my nerves, no wonder dogs bite them i feel like biting them at times

| I am not sure about other States, but I know here in Texas they "legally" have to put the letters in the letterbox even if they are delivering a package to the door. Pretty crazy if you ask me, and I have no idea why they "legally" have to do it, but I know that's why it is done the way you are talking about.

our postie hands us the mail as well as the package...but my gripe, is that she starts tooting her horn as soon as she leaves the next door neighbour's house, all the way to our house, and then sits at the top of our driveway, tooting her horn until one of us goes out there to take it from her. She must think we can't hear her or something. This really gets me angry, especially when I'm on the phone with calls.....she's lucky I don't have a baby, or she'd be copping a mouthful.
The other day, we were on our way back from the doctors, and dennis saw her delivering mail......my husband then proceeds to start tooting our horn from the moment he saw heruntil he was about a block past her hahahaha.....I hope she didn't recognise us hahaha...

| my pet peeve at our postman back in Mass. was in the winter if our path wasn't cleared of snow, he wouldn't deliver it...fair enough I hear you all say, but when the drive way and path along the fence line leading to the house is in fact clear, I didn't see a problem...just because we had a path leading from the street (and his van) to our door which wasn't cleared regularly, he wouldn't walk up a few more inches!!!! yes petty too, but in his case, not ours!!!!

| we had a great mailman in Massachusetts, when I was home with my knee in a splint after my surgery he would bring the mail to the door for me. Quite often I would be workng in the yard and he would always stop and chat, I think plowing close to the mail box helped him do his run in that horrible weather.

Our postman leaves mail in the letter box yet brings a parcel to the door i think its silly because if he has to come to the door then what harm is it to carry a letter with you.

Our postie will not bring any letters to the door (unless it has to be signed for)as well and i think its very stupid no matter what the reason is.

It depends on who is doing the run in our area, if its the normal guy he will bring both if we have both but if he isn't doing the run no way known will the other ones do it and that is petty in my opinion!

| our letter box was right by the front door, so the postie had no choice but to bring everything to the front door, lol.
