Had these tonight and they are to die for ! We just had cheese sticks and Rutabaga (spelling ?) not sure how to spell that one :-) it was my first time eating Rutabaga and this is darn good as well.
1 Cup of finely shredded Italian five cheese or something like it.
2oz (1/4 of 8oz.pkt of Cream cheese.
1/4 cup finely diced green bell pepper.
1/2 teaspoon of dry oregano.
1/2 teaspoon garlic salt.
1 cup spaghetti sauce.
4 thin pieces of boneless chicken breasts.
So this is for 4....lol
.
Heat oven 400F
Mix all ingredients together except for the spaghetti sauce and 1/2 cup of the cheese.
Divide mixture in 4 and roll into a log, place thins in the middle of chicken breast that has been hammered to make thin, roll the chicken trying your best to close of the ends so the cheese doesnt melt out.
Pour spaghetti sauce over the top and place in oven covered with foil cook for half and hour then take foil off and cover with rest of cheese add back into oven till cheese has melted.
Very easy to make and takes no time at all yet so good.

sounds yummy...but where did the rutabaga come in in the recipe...did you grate it into the mix? Or how did you use it?
(if I'm thinking of the same thing...rutabaga is another word for a swede ?)

lol, we had the rutabaga on the side, you cook it like you would mashed spuds. Its real good kinda tastes like spud and pumpkin mixed together yet if eaten raw taste like a turnip.

sounds great Dahls, going to try this out on my family during the week! Can anybody suggest something other than the bell peppers, cuz I love them but they hate me for hours after I eat them, but I sure do miss the flavour of them in something like this. Any ideas?

I looked up what others have tried if they don't eat bell peppers but a recipe calls for them and grated zucchini sounds like it could work if you eat them. I think it would go with the recipe that does sound good by the way.

After trying these myself i think you could almost add anything that will go with chicken but more with cheese, I think Belinda could be onto something because i think if you like zucchini that it would go well with this dish.

I like adding a little bit of any veges to these sort of recipes...carrots, zucchini, celery (always good for flavour)...even a bit of spinach.
Anything that can be disguised...lol. Sometimes I even go so far as lentils or chick peas ...but not very often, as I'd be divorced by now!

Yes Sixties and i think a lot will go with this recipe i was even thinking onion/cheese and tomatoes but whatever you add make sure its cut up real fine because the amount of mixture is not much because you dont need a lot when i did it i thought this is such a small amount but it worked.

lol, i don't think lentils or chick pea's would go well with it, but im sure you could add almost anything and it still be good.

I was going to try this tonight, only to discover I forgot one of the main things...the cream cheese So D has to pick it up on his way home from work and I guess I will try again tomorrow

Well to tell the truth, I don't think chickpeas or lentils go well with anything...but just once in a while , like maybe every 5 or 10 years, I think to myself "If I add chickpeas or lentils to that, I might become a super-healthy person"
