Here is a puzzle.
I had to change my ticket to go to OZ to my maiden name as that is what my passport is in. And it is a return ticket.
However when I go home I have to go to BD&M to register my marraige and get my name changed so then I will be coming back under my married name yet my return ticket is still in my maiden name and I am not allowed to change it again.
I already changed it once and it cost $150 cos without thinking I just booked it in the name I use now (silly me )
So once I change my name in Brisbane my passport will no longer be valid (?)
Well I better teach Ready F to cook before I go in case they dont let me come back ha ha .

I could be wrong here but as long as you have both your ticket and passport in the same names you should be ok.
Im sure all you are doing is changing your name via dee poll or whatever its called as Australia want acknowledge your marriage.
But i could be wrong.

Thanks Dahls that was the first time I have seen that.
I had rang the Australian Embassy and that was not explained to me only that I have to attend BD&M when I get home.
I will definatly go and see them .

Just another idea for you Sunny....when you and hubby go home how about finding out what you need to marry in Australia and maybe have another Ceremony within Australia, that way your name will be lodged at the BD&M as married not just change of name.
Not sure what you would need but you have the time to find out before you guy's head off....just something else to think about sm007

my daughter rang BD&M and has got the papers for me and its $100 takes 6 weeks or for extra $67 takes 5 days.
Buttttt. It is to change your name by deed poll and no way I am doing that as it means I have to change my Birth Certificate.
So until I get American passport looks like I will be travelling under my previous name.
