Wonder of wonders, the USCIS in Phoenix have finally tracked down my file. After 5 SLOW years they finally discovered it. I applied for citizenship way back in 2005.  It was probably sitting next to the Ark of the Covenant in that giant warehouse.... h0099

So , as it's been so long I have to give my "biometrics" again. I'm thinking that's fingerprints. Maybe an iris scan?

Are you going to go ahead for your Citizenship ?

Yep, been trying to get my citizenship for quite a long time now. Might as well. This country has been very good to me.

I guess then I'll have three passports if they'll let me. (AUS/UK/USA)

Not sure why fingerprints "expire".....the USCIS have their own way of doing things and I just follow the bouncing ball :)

Boing Boing.

Please keep us posted on how this goes. I always thought you would have to give up your Aussie passport when you obtained citizenship.

Is there a way to keep both?

You keep your Aussie one because you become a dual Citizen.

It changed a couple or more years ago that you could keep your Aussie citizenship after getting US. If it wasn't the case, I wouldn't bother. Being Aussie is more important to me.

Having said that I rather like having my UK citizenship too, so I have heard it's possible to carry three passports. We shall see......

Congrats on them finding the file. After 5 years i hope they don't charge you again for the finger prints as it was their fault!

Not sure if there will be a charge for them. I'm guessing not. It wasn't mentioned on the letter. We shall see ! Slowly but surely, I'm making my way through the system...

Best of luck with it all, i dont know why they haven't got their acts together by now its not as if they have just started taking in Citizenship. And how on earth can you misplace something for 5 years its not good enough!

That was one of the stupid things about the Re Entry Permit I was getting for staying back in Oz for 2 years... I had to get Biometrics done AGAIN. I only had them done 9 years ago and to the best of my knowledge and I'm pretty sure the Scientific and Medical professionals will back me up...... THEY DONT BLOODY WELL CHANGE!!!!!

Now if someone could tell those power tripping Retards at the USCIS, life would be so much easier!
