I have an appointment at the USCIS in Phoenix the morning. Hope they can tell me why my citizenship application has taken so long. Be nice if they could fastrack it along from here.
It's at 11:20 Arizona time. (PDT) Wish me luck. Will report back this afternoon.

Hmm, what happened? I guess I should look and see if there is another thread....
I found it, it said they found the file but you had to go and get your biometrics again. Then what happened? Did it go through??? Guess I'll look for another thread.

Long time since I posted, hi again everybody.
I never heard back after getting those biometrics done. I guess the file was transferred to the bottom of someone's in-tray and I'll hear in about 2013.
Tell you the truth, I've lost interest in getting US citizenship. My enthusiasm has died, I've flung my documents in the corner where they now gather dust. I'm worn out and I give up. After the recent mid term elections and all the bad blood flying about, I realised I don't have that much in common with them. A feeling of detachment has taken the place of my once strong affection and desire to become part of the US.
Maybe I'm just getting "too old for this s#$t". I've had seven birthdays go by since I applied.
Cheers everyone and have a great Thanksgiving.

I dont blame you one bit its ok for those who have had no problems but when you go through what you have it would be enough to put you right off. I hope you have a great Thanks Giving as well :-)

It'll probably happen just as I have forgotten all about it. The letter will come out of the blue. I guess I just don't trust those Neanderthals in the USCIS to do the right thing. I spent ten minutes there once explaining that yes, my birth certificate IS the original. She didn't believe me. (I was born in the UK and they have/had long salmon coloured certificates abut 18" wide) It's a long and winding rocky road dealing with them.

| 90% of them have no idea at all and its wrong! if your going to expect or would like people from other countries to become a citizen then at least have people working for the USCIS that know what the hell they are doing!

Which is exactly one of the reasons I wouldn't even consider becoming a Citizen of this country. The USCIS has screwed me over from day 1 and have treated me with nothing but utter contempt.
Last years debacle with my Re Entry Permit, having to come back to the US early and getting my Passport flagged for 12 months is a typical example of their ineptitude. I had PA and Federal Senators and Congressman petition the USCIS (Specter and Thompson) on my behalf and they basically got told to piss off and mind their own business.
I'll just renew my Green Card when its due because seriously, I dont want any lasting links with this Country. That way I can leave if I want and wont have to deal with any sh*t from them.
Dont think I've ever come accross a bunch of Oxygen Thiefs (USCIS) so wrapped up in their own self importance, but at the same time so incredibley inept, in all my born days.
Problem is... we're not friggen Mexican!
