There comes a time in a persons life where we sit back and look at our life, where its heading where its been and so on. I have looked back over the past 3 years and seen this site grow from scratch to where it is today. I never in a million years expected this site to have almost 45,000 posts in 3 years this is due to the great members we have been blessed with. However due to situations in both Don's and my life we have decided to hand our little home away from home (Aussiecastaways) over and into the hands of Kanga. We both will still be here but as active members only. All i ask is that you give Kanga some slack :-) its very hard to make everybody happy and very hard at times to know what to actually do in situations so please remember this if something is said or done that one might not like, its just a site not a war, but more importantly remember we all have our own opinions and should be respected for them even if you do not agree. There will be a few different things you will notice as in a big clean up ! :-) something that i have been wanting to do for some time now but never got around to it :-(
Well thats it, this is not good bye just a DONT YELL AT ME ANYMORE  . Oh and the email for the site will remain the same :-)

Oh wow! I think there comes a time in everybody s life where it becomes time to move on. You both have done a great job but im for one glad your not leaving that would be so sad! Promise i will be good

This has come as a bit of a shock! Running a site is something i don't think i would ever want to take on even if it is a site thats not hard to run. Thank you for your time that you both have put into the site i am very grateful!
Do we really have to give kanga some slack?

Wow, what a gut-wrenching decision that must have been to make!
You come to look at a a forum as "your own little baby" & you see it through the good times & the bad, build it up from nothing, learning as you go...so I can imagine that was a very hard decision to make.
But I know the feeling of 'burnout' from it, and I noticed you mentioned 'trying to please everyone' ...that can take an ernrmous toll on you, and even moreso when your family life is disrupted and you're working long hours etc.
Personally I'd like to congratulate you & Don for achieving an unbelievable success with the site. Just go to Google & type in 'expatriate support forums'...and whose name comes out on top of the list eh? Yep, ACA...what an achievement that is.
Everything you've done here has been done with caring & compassion for others, and most of all, with a good uplifting sense of humour.
I am so glad you will still be here (never believed you wouldn't be, anyway) and I have no doubt in the world that Kanga will do an excellent job.
So my humble thanks to you, and my very best wishes to Kanga.
Now...how about a little party & a few wee drinkies for the 'changing of the guard' !

Sixties....Actually it wasnt that hard of a decision to make if the truth be known and i think that alone is saying our time is up ! and of course as i said its not bye just handing it over.
John as for Kanga take it up with her . See im being good already and butting out .

| I had to read this three times to make sure i was reading it right. Going by your reply i think your right if if wasn't a hard decision to make then better you hand it over now than regret it later on. Im sure kanga will do just fine and im glad you guy's will still be about.

Hey hey hey can Dahls be the first (and i hope the only one) i growl at.
I was very honored! when Dahls told me they were giving the site up and asked if i wanted to take it over. I just pray and hope i can do as good as job as they both have done over the past 3 years.

I remember when Kanga first told me about this site i was thinking no kanga im not into this sort of thing but i took a look and thought what the heck give it a go. I know i dont post everyday but the minute i joined i was made feel welcome, this goes a long way with me. I think you guy's have done a fabulous job and im also glad your still going to be around Thank you.

Thank you Don and dahls for making such a great site, i wasn't shocked some things were said a while ago and i thought something might happen..
i hope you enjoy doing whatever your next project will be...

| I know i was pleased when i found this site and i also was made feel very welcome when i joined, so im happy you haven't closed it down but rather handed it over i think i would have been shattered if you did! I have always been happy the way the site has been run and im sure Kanga will carry on in the same manner.
